As a young Black woman navigating the complexities of life and career in Northern Virginia, Deionna recognized a need for a space where Black young professionals could authentically connect, share experiences, and build lasting relationships.
Driven by a desire to foster a sense of belonging and combat the feeling of isolation that can sometimes accompany navigating professional spaces, Deionna launched Black&Bloom.
Black&Bloom: Cultivating Community for Black Young Professionals in Northern Virginia
In the vibrant and bustling q region of the DMV, a unique social club is blossoming, connecting and empowering Black young professionals. Founded by the dynamic Deionna Francis, Black&Bloom is more than just a gathering place; it's a curated community designed to foster connection, growth, and support for its members.
"I wanted to create a community where we could thrive, not just survive," Deionna explains. "A place where we could celebrate our successes, support each other through challenges, and build a network that empowers us to achieve our fullest potential."
But Deionna's story is more than just that of a founder; it's the story of a determined young mother and wife, striving to be the best version of herself every single day. A woman of faith, she prioritizes her role as a woman of God, a mother, and an individual, consistently pushing herself to grow and evolve.
When she's not building community with Black&Bloom or working hard to achieve her professional goals, Deionna is deeply invested in her family. She cherishes quality time with her husband and two children, often embarking on adventures that feed their curiosity and strengthen their bond. Whether it's exploring new destinations through travel, connecting with nature through hiking, or expanding their palates with diverse cuisines, Deionna understands the importance of a well-rounded life.
